Places on the internet where I considere my time well spent:
The Web is Fantastic Actually
Even with all the mechanisms of the corporate web that leaves people drained and turned off, Robert Kingett elaborates on a conviction that I wholeheartedly share: the web is (can be) in fact great. With some effort on the users side, there still are great places to discover, to learn new things, to exchange ideas. The author points to some excellent places for everyone curious about the indie web.
Progressive Enhancement
UK Gov's very thorough guide for building solid frontends following progressive enhancement practices. Especially when providing services that need to be available to everyone, it should go without further explanation that the accessiblity of those can not be dependent on high-end devices.
Angela Collier
Youtube Channel of theoretical physicist Angela Collier. She takes on a variety of topics in the realm of physics and science in general in a very entertaining way. Some videos are hands on guides on how to take on a physics problem, others, as some about rather absurd fads and opinions out there, are nice to maybe shake your head and share a laugh about.
Midlife Engineering
Discovered via Piccalilli's Index. A tool to create ambient soundscapes, relaxing and fun way to play around with different modes.
Messenger
A beautiful browser game and a web experience, which deserves the name, made by abeto.co. Everything from design, music, wording to development is absolutely stunning. Besides, they did a great job performance wise. Strolling through this virtual town delights me every time.
Eva Decker
The personal website of Eva Decker, a design engineer. You will find interesting articles to browse through, a cool nostalgic guestbook feature and a virtual piano on her home page which is one of the things I love the web for.
MTV Rewind
For everyone, who still remembers the days when MTV was playing music videos all day, this place should be a real treasure. Kudos for such a cool idea. High chances this site will pull me in and get me stuck there for hours at a time.
Piccalilli
When it comes to reading high quality articles on web development this is one of my favorite places to go. Their approach is super fun and their writing is great. Most of the time, you can get something out of it (almost) regardless of your current level of knowledge - which is hard to achieve. There is so much love to the craft and attention to detail in everything published. Consider me a fan. It also might be a good place to lead people to who think that frontend development is merely about putting funny colors on a website.
